We are back at it again with another monthly guide for all of our friends. May is upon us, and so is a great selection of the things that we would like to spend a moderately sunny spring day doing. Feel free to be inspired and do come along.
Growing Pains
Copenhagen is changing at a rapid pace. New buildings are rising up all over the city, accommodating a growing number of inhabitants in our fair capital city. Copenhagen Architecture Festival is addressing tomorrow’s city with all it’s many possibilities and issues, seen through the eyes of the people in charge of our future cityscape. Become wiser via talks, exhibitions, excursions and much more. The architecture festival is also on in Aarhus and Aalborg.

All Aboard
Point your bike beyond Vesterbro, past the shopping mall and the new builds and soon after, you’ll arrive a the lovely little vessel, Jungfruhamn in Sydhavnen. The former 18th century Swedish tugboat is now firmly moored and proudly serving it’s reincarnation as one of our new favorite spots for coffee etc. The sun kissed floating gem hiding in plain sight is well worth the extra pedalling.

Going Under
If you didn’t already know, there’s a exhibition space in the old water reservoir underneath Søndermarken. And it’s probably the coolest of it’s kind. Artists like Christian Lemmerz and Ingvar Cronhammar have previously inhabited the gloomy labyrinth, and now it’s the Japanese architect Hiroshi Sambuichi who lives in the underworld. His vast installation is a mix of a lush Japanese garden and a dark and dangerous harbor. But please go see for yourself.

Park Life
May means that a summer favourite is returning from a lengthy hiatus. The aptly named Riga on Litauens Plads is opening the shutters to yet another fine season of Aperol Spritz and ham and cheese toasts. The shed-turned-bar is tucked away at a small park between Istedgade and Sdr. Boulevard, and if you don’t know it by now, you should get familiar. Ahh, the simple things in life.

Sprouts
The future is now. And defined by 24 freshly hatched graduates from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. The talented bunch is currently showing their stunning work at Charlottenborg Kunsthal as they share their take on the art currents to come. Stop by and treat your eye to some art and your taste buds to food and drinks from another favourite, the newly opened Apollo Kantine & Bar by our friend Frederik Bille Brahe.
