Why do you think denim continues to endure in fashion?
Because denim can live in your wardrobe forever. The more patina it gains, the more character it holds. I almost feel like comparing a pair of worn-in jeans you’ve had for years to a book. They carry a story, one that’s right there in the back pocket.

Which fit would you choose for a pair of jeans today?
I have a pair of washed jeans in a slightly dark denim that I bought vintage in Paris. They fit close to the body, but not in a “skinny jeans” way, more of a slim fit that follows the legs all the way down to the ankles. Very straightforward.

Is there such a thing as a “Copenhagen street style”?
I think people abroad would definitely say yes, but as a Copenhagener, I’m not sure I could give you a clear recipe. For me, though, a bicycle is always part of the look. Perhaps we’ve also been “raised” on layering in Copenhagen, dressing to stay warm, but with the intention that the coat shouldn’t hide the outfit underneath. And then there’s knitwear – sweaters made by friends or grandmothers – and cashmere, which feel very Copenhagen to me.nder eller mormor har strikket til én, og cashmere som meget Kbh.

When do you feel compelled to stop and photograph someone on the street?
I’m really drawn to people with an introverted expression. If you can get beneath that and document someone in a shy way, a photograph can feel especially strong and compelling. Too many times, especially abroad, I’ve let someone pass by, only to immediately feel the regret of knowing I’ll never see them again. So I’m on a journey to be brave enough to react when someone’s expression stands out to me. I also pay a lot of attention to people’s hair, the way it works together with the face.

How would you describe your photographic style?
Spontaneity and small narratives, I think. Whether it’s my friend’s walk home from school or a train ride out of the city, these moments can become important for me to document. At the same time, I find it exciting to keep evolving my own visual language. I go through phases of being drawn to different things. Recently, I became obsessed with revisiting every photo on my camera roll where my friends or I are cycling. I had 1,396 of them. It’s fun to dive into themes like that.

What inspires the way you dress?
Many things, and nothing at all. I usually just get up and get dressed without thinking too much. When I look back, my best outfits are always the ones that came together in five minutes. I’m constantly inspired by my friends, but also by the world of dance, especially modern dance and ballet: leg warmers, tights, small knitted shorts. I have a background in ballet, and I like to keep that connection close.
