To mark International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026, we are launching a special t-shirt in collaboration with musician Nanna Øland Fabricius (Oh Land). All profits from the t-shirt will be donated to UNICEF’s work to protect and strengthen girls’ rights worldwide. The t-shirt is based on Oh Land’s personal story. Featuring butterfly wings painted by Oh Land on the back, the design is a symbol of strength and belief in positive change for the future.
Oh Land shares the story behind the project:
I want to dedicate this t-shirt to my daughter, who at a far too young age has had to overcome a serious illness.
Watching her strength has changed my life and made me forever grateful for the opportunities she has in a country like Denmark. Not all girls have the same opportunities as she does. Around the world, girls still have to fight just to be seen and heard. I wish for a world where girls are free to unfold their wings. Free to fly wherever they want. Free to choose their own paths on equal terms with boys. Free to hope and dream, without fearing the future. Free to be children, and not brides.
The butterfly symbolizes many things, including transformation, hope, and freedom. The butterfly reminds us of the fragility and beauty of life. It is said that the flap of a butterfly’s wings on one side of the world can cause a storm on the other. The past has shaped the present. We stand on the shoulders of strong women who, throughout history, have given us the opportunities we have today. Today, we can help create change for the girls of tomorrow, if we continue to believe in and fight for a better future. Belief takes courage. The courage to challenge what we know and to improve what can be better.
