Trilogy Shows and Films

We like to work in sets of threes – trilogies. Doing something ambitious only once doesn't feel right – it's also less sustainable. So we do threes – we start, we learn and comment, and then there's the finale.

Den Grå Hal

In 2005 and 2006, Mads Nørgaard gathered the Copenhagen crowd for a trilogy of fashion shows at Den Grå Hal (The Grey Hall) – an iconic and significant location in Copenhagen's emerging arts and culture scene in the Freetown Christiania.

The Copenhagen Experience

In 2008 and 2009, under the influence of the internet and the ongoing debate on whether films should replace fashion shows, we launched a trilogy of fashion films on the theme 'The Copenhagen Experience'. The trilogy – a homage to Jimi Hendrix and his music – would each feature a different cover version of Denmark's first legendary punk song 'Copenhagen' by Sods/Sort Sol.

DJ Djuna Barnes/Maria Gerhardt, DJ Tomas Barfoed and Anders Trentemøller created the cover version for the first film The Copenhagen Experience #1. The song became a hit in its own right on the Danish national radio channel P3. German band Rework created the cover version for The Copenhagen Experience #2. Noam Griegst directed both films, featuring Freja Beha and Eddie Klint in the lead roles, and included a cameo by Sods frontman Steen Jørgensen. All profits were donated to the Men's Home for Homeless.

We still need one film to complete the trilogy, so stay tuned.

Kunsthal Charlottenborg

In 2014 and 2015, we held another trilogy at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen and the exhibition spaces for contemporary art, Kunsthal Charlottenborg. Show one in the renowned Festsal in February, show two in the Sculpture Garden in August and show three in the main exhibition space again in February.
