Mads Nørgaard – Copenhagen presents Couples for Spring 2014. The series of portraits shot by Rasmus Weng Karlsen in Copenhagen continues with the fourth couple, Shila Louise Gaonkar and Nicholas Westwood Kidd.
The series, conceived by Cecilie and Mads Nørgaard in 2013, is an on-going celebration of human connections in Copenhagen. The series of vibrant portraits is all about beauty and honesty, creativity and oddness in the bonds between lovers, friends and collaborators. This season’s couple is the Danish rap artist Nicholas Westwood Kidd and his girlfriend, the fashion designer Shila Louise Gaonkar, shot over winter in the Rosforth & Rosforth winery under Knippelsbro, Copenhagen.
As well as the images, founder Mads Nørgaard, has also invited Shila to design for the collection, produced in Denmark under the Nørgaard paa Strøget name. These styles will be available in February 2014.
“Our new couple in the series is Nicholas Kidd and his girlfriend Shila. I have followed Nicholas’s career from the very early stages, and was from the beginning fascinated by his intensity, vulnerability and toughness. Last autumn, I met him and Shila at an art performance in Charlottenborg Kunsthal where they stood out in perfectly coordinated polka-dot outfits. I was deeply impressed and immediately felt that we should do something together in the near future. The result is Couples #4 as well as Shila designed a small capsule collection exclusively for us. I am very proud and happy this is happening.”
