Let's get educated!

We are feminists at Mads Nørgaard and believe in the equal value of every human being. That is why we always celebrate International Women's Day on March 8.

Our March 8 celebration is organized in collaboration with Mangfold. Thanks to Brøg Litteraturbar/Brøg Over the Bridge & Beat Records.

This year we celebrate the day under the headline Let's get educated!, focusing on the importance of insights and awareness: The more knowledge, the better understanding, and consequently change we can create together!

"Feminism is a critique of power and an ideology of freedom. It demands that everybody, regardless of gender, skin, color, sexuality, nationality, physical ability, religious belief and class, should have equal rights and opportunities to be who they are and do what they are capable of and dream of. The purpose of feminism is, therefore, to value the feminine and masculine equally, and to fight power structures and patriarchal norms, including gender stereotypes, which stand in the way of this.”

- Education and gender sociologist Cecilie Nørgaard, founder of Mangfold

4 statement T-shirts, supporting The Red Van

We have produced 4 T-shirts with strong quotes that support the message. You will find them in our stores in Copenhagen, Århus and Berlin as well as on our Webshop - find them here. When you buy one of the T-shirts, you support The Red Van – an NGO that works to create a better and safer environment for sex workers on the streets. We pass all profits on to them.

Come by at Nørgaard på Strøget

In our Copenhagen store ‘Nørgaard on Strøget’ we expand the celebration further with a special selection of book releases and records. Come by and explore the unique selection – Let’s get educated!

We hope you will join us in our celebration – Together we can create changes!

Happy International Women's Day!
