WOMEN OF WORDS
12 exceptional writers perform spoken word in the window of Nørgaard paa Strøget on International Women’s Day, March 8.The writers are:
Aaiún Nin; writer, mixed media artist, and painter. Author of the poem collection ‘Broken Halves of a Milky Sun’ and ‘På min huds sorthed’ (On The Blackness Of My Skin).
Ursula Andkjær Olsen; writer. Debuted in 2000 with the poem collection ‘Lulu's Songs and Speeches’. Most recent work is ‘Morgenkåber’ from 2021.
Nazila Kivi; writer, cultural critic, public educator, and translator of Shahrnush Parsipur's ‘Women Without Men’ (1989) published in 2019.
Fie Martens Ljungmann; writer. Debuted in 2022 with the poem ‘under indflydelse’.
Cecilie Lind; writer. Debuted in 2010 with the poem collection ‘Ulven åd min eyeliner’ (2010). Most recent work is novel ‘Pigedyr’ from 2022.
Emma Rosenzweig; artist, filmmaker, writer, and essayist for newspapers and magazines.
Pernille Abd-el Dayem; author. Debuted in 2015 with ‘Inden for revet’. Most recent work is ‘Omsorgsdage’ from 2022.
SABITHA SÖDERHOLM; author and visual artist. Debuted in 2022 with ‘Chellam’ which was shortlisted for BogForum's Debutant Prize 2022.
Asta Olivia Nordenhof; author. Debuted with the book ‘Et ansigt til Emily’ (A face for Emily), for which she also received the Bodil and Jørgen Munch-Christensen Debutant Prize in 2011.
Melanie Kitti; writer and visual artist. Debuted in 2022 with her poem collection ‘HALVT URNE, HALVT GRAL’.
Stine Pilgaard; author and recipient of Weekendavisen's Literature Prize and De Gyldne Laurbær for 'Meter i sekundet’ (Meters per Second) in 2021 and won the libraries' author prize in 2016.
Jessie Kleemann; visual artist, performance artist, and poet. Debuted with a major solo exhibition in Nuuk in 1988.
