The last month of summer is upon us and once again we at Mads Nørgaard are at hand with a few good things to indulge in before the days once again shorten. Remember, you don’t need sunshine to have a good time, but make sure to enjoy the hot beams from above as soon as they decide to shine our way. And go for a swim while you can. The water is warm and we’re surrounded by water from north to south and east to west. Hail to the long Nordic summer evenings.
If you ever needed a solid reason to go to Nordvest, here’s one. A very good one that is. The new pizza parlor, Behov, is among the best things to happen to Copenhagen as of late. Stay safe and go with one of their carefully curated classic pizzas, or try your hand at assembling your own glorious combination. The location in a residential area on Rentemestervej is also perfect for people watching and cocktail sipping. Cocktail happy hour is on every day from 21 - 22. Get on your bike and pedal to NV as fast as you can.

A re-occurring event that makes August better is Strøm Festival. One of the most unique festivals we can boast, there’s no shortage of cool and quirky events during the citywide electronic music festival. Strøm Festival is 87 artist playing 33 events spread out over 26 different locations. Among the more curious ones is a 10 hour sleeping concert at Brorsons Kirke or Frederiksberg City Hall playing electronic hits on its bell tower. In a more classical setting, the danish supergroup AV AV AV is sure to start a party. On a sidenote, most of the events during Strøm Festival are completely free of charge.

Chart Art Fair
If you’ve always felt a bit intimidated by the world of galleries, Chart Art Fair serves as the perfect gateway onto the art scene. Now in its 4th year, this joint venture between a handfull of the best galleries in Copenhagen is bigger and better than ever. The art geeks at Mads Nørgaard are happy to once again partner up with Chart Art Fair for a brilliant and beautiful weekend at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, dressing the staff in our classic 101-shirt.

Another thing to enjoy while the weather still allows it is Kastrup Søbad. Situated at the far side of the extremely popular Amager Strandpark, this wooden structure may be the best place in Copenhagen to take a dip. Maybe even turn it in to a morning (or night) ritual. And remember, the early bird gets the worm, meaning it can get a bit crowded doing peak hours. The thrill seekers can scale the spiral shaped jetty all the way up to the designated jumping area. A word of advice; don’t look down. During the weekend evenings you can also get an extensive look into the life of teenage Copenhageners, as they hang out atop the jetty. Also a brilliant place for plane spotting.

Long live diversity. We strongly encourage you to join in as the city of Copenhagen once again celebrate the beauty of contrasts. It’s no secret that we care a great deal about diversity and equality, and we gladly take it upon us to promote this glorious event that is not just among the best in August but of the entire year. Take it to the streets and go celebrate alongside 200.000 of your enlightened fellow citizens.
