PLEASE BE HERE NOW

A 72 HOURS NON-STOP PERFORMANCE AT NØRGAARD.

THURSDAY MARCH 12th AT 12pm – SUNDAY MARCH 15th AT 12pm NANA FRANCISCA SHOTTLÄNDER WILL OCCUPY THE WINDOW OF NØRGAARD PAA STRØGET.

At Nørgaard, we have always had a close relationship with art, and we are happy to support contemporary art. Both economically, but also practically.

We have a proud tradition of using our windows in the service of art. Susanne Ussing’s decorations and sculptures on the street in front of our shop and Kirsten Delholm’s series of window decorations are examples of this, just like our collaborations with artists like FOS, Jes Brinch, Malene Landgreen and Lilibeth Cuenca.

Therefore, we are proud to open our window for Nana Francisca’s radical project ‘Please Be Here Now’. Because it is an, on the one hand simple, on the other hand, complex, artistic work which has both wide appeal but also great depth.

‘Please Be Here Now’ is a 72 hour long exposed inhabitaion, a live performance-research laboratory that investigates the body as private and public material where Nana Francisca lives in the window, 24/7, day and night.

Nana Francisca Schottländer’s work combines dance, performances, installations and conceptual art. Her projects work as laboratories for investigating various aspects of life - from solitude, intimacy, death and ugliness to collective creation, social movements and modern rituals. A common factor in her work is the use of her body as a tool to explore, create and communicate directly from body to body; from life to life.

In the piece ‘Please Be Here Now’ Nana Francisca examines, which exchanges the bodily presence in an unexpected place, as a shop window, can create with the passers-by on Strøget.

Nana Francisca will be dwelling with everyday activities – eating, sleeping, reading – interrupted by more staged activities such as interactions with invited guests as Bjørn Nørgaard, Thomas ‘Fos’, Esben Weile Kjær and Jørgen Nørgaard.

Full program is released Thursday March 12th at 12.00 pm.
